About Us

Barbara Rainey Consulting has been providing sensory evaluation consulting and training services to the industry since 1981.

Barbara Rainey Consulting has experience in developing sensory evaluation programs (including descriptive analysis training) for food, personal care and household care product lines. 

Barbara is a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and has served as the Sensory and Consumer Sciences Division chairman, chair-elect and secretary. 

Barbara is also a member of ASTM, committee E-18 on Sensory Evaluation, and a member of the Society of Sensory Professionals. 

Barbara was elected a 1990 Kansas State University Alumni Fellow.

Barbara has served as a USDA/ CSREES/ NRICGP panel member and on the editorial board of the Journal of Sensory Studies.
